The finals for the much-awaited 21st
season of Women’s Volleyball League (WVL), one of the country’s biggest and
longest running volleyball tournaments for girls, is finally near! Organized by
BEST (Basketball Efficiency and Scientific
Training) Center and sponsored by Milo, the finals will be held on
March 5, 2017 at the San Beda College Gym.
Saint Pedro Poveda College and St.
Paul College Makati will be competing in the 17 and Under Developmental
Division while King’s Montessori School Team A and San Pedro Relocation Center
National High School will face each other for a championship victory in the 17
and Under Competitive Division.
Qualifying for the 13 and Under
Development Division are Colegio San Agustin Team A and School of Saint Anthony.
Another team from Colegio San Agustin will try to thwart King’s Montessori
School in the 13 and Under Competitive Division.
The finals will also hold a tournament
to determine WVL’s 3rd and 4th placers, as well as a
championship consolation game for 17 and Under Competitive Division wherein
King’s Montessori School Team B will play against St. Scholastica’s College
Team A.
“Another season has come and we are
very excited to see a lot of young girls showcase their passion for volleyball,”
remarked BEST Center founder Nicanor Jorge. “WVL serves as a great venue for these
girls to test their skills and abilities in volleyball and it enables them to gain
confidence in playing for major competitions. We are looking forward to
producing more promising young girls who will someday be representing our
country in big leagues.”

future champions but also promoting sports and physical fitness among kids, BEST
Center is cited by the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) and the
Olympism Award from the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) as hall of famer.
Meanwhile, WVL has recently received
a citation from the
Philippine Sportswriter Association last Febrauary 13, 2017 during its PSA
Awards Night "for being a consistent breeding ground of young talens
in volleyball for the past 20 years”. By continuously organizing sports event
such as WVL as well as SBP-Passerelle Twin Tournament, an annual basketball competition
for kids aged 9-14, BEST Center is confident that the sport in the country
will continue to grow in both popularity and equality.
